MEET CLAUDIA VILLATORO
Claudia Villatoro was born in Guatemala and legally immigrated to the United States in 1994 in pursuit of the American Dream. She began her career at D&B Glass, gaining hands-on experience that fueled her rise from employee to entrepreneur.
In 2002, Claudia founded Sky Glass and Tint, later expanding with Academy Glass and Tint and Golden Gate Glass. Her companies became trusted names in commercial and residential glass services. After 9/11, she earned a landmark federal contract with White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, one of the few woman-led firms to do so, and was named Business Woman of the Year in 2003.
In 2009, Claudia joined the Chicago Board of Trade, serving national and international clients while remaining deeply rooted in her heritage. She successfully advocated for Guatemalan expatriate voting rights, leading to absentee voting approval in 2015. Her efforts earned her the title Ambassador of Peace in 2010.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she founded Villatoro’s Global Foundation, dedicated to fighting child trafficking, malnutrition, and water insecurity. In 2024, after witnessing the border crisis firsthand, Claudia stepped into public service as a candidate for Hollywood City Commissioner, championing public safety, economic growth, and sustainable leadership.
